At Kanban University, we are proud of the value within our community.

Kanban University Certified Training provides effective guidance on how to optimize and improve business process workflow outcomes. We are available to guide you along your Kanban journey by exploring our two highest levels of accreditation: Accredited Kanban Consultant (AKC) or Accredited Kanban Trainer (AKT). Many people even choose to pursue both the Coaching and Training paths.

What are the differences between the AKC and AKT accreditations? What outcomes do you expect from your students and within your organization? To answer these questions and more, we reached out to our valued community members for insights from current AKCs and AKTs (see below).

Let’s Talk!

Coach and Consult Clients to Improvement with the Deepest Kanban, Maturity and Coaching Knowledge

If you want to grow as a coach and consultant, AKCs have the knowledge set and experience to lead Kanban implementations that carry organizations to a higher maturity level. This has a direct effect on the positive business results that come from more mature organizations. By helping your company or clients mature, you will:

  • See increased customer satisfaction with project outcomes
  • Get a higher return on project investments
  • Improve schedule and budget sustainability
  • Achieve a lower cost of quality, while improving the level of quality

The AKC credential requires attaining the Kanban Management Professional and Kanban Coaching Professional credentials, attending the Change Leadership Masterclass, completing a written case study and a panel interview by our Kanban experts.

Learn About the Change Leadership Masterclass

“The Kanban University community provides numerous opportunities to connect with the foremost experts and practitioners in the field. Since joining back in 2007, I have developed numerous long lasting professional friendships, that have led to frequent and enjoyable discussions, sharing learnings, insights, and gaining effective guidance on how to optimize and improve business process workflow outcomes.”

Teach and Certify Students in the Kanban University Foundation Curriculum

If you want to deliver KU Certified Kanban training, AKTs are trained to teach the foundation classes: Team Kanban Practitioner, Kanban System Design, and Kanban Systems Improvement. Benefits of being an AKT are:

  • Ability to teach the Certified Kanban University curriculum
  • Support from the Kanban University team through marketing materials and social media outreach
  • Access to the global Kanban community and the latest Kanban news
  • First access and discounts to Kanban conferences and retreats

The Kanban Train the Trainer (TTT) course is required to become an Accredited Kanban Trainer (AKT). This course focuses on the candidate’s effectiveness as a trainer rather than teach Kanban fundamentals. Prior to enrolling in a TTT course, students must attain the Kanban Management Professional credential from Kanban University, as well as possess significant Kanban experience.

Read About the Kanban Train the Trainer Course

“Kanban University’s Train the Trainer course is meticulous, it needs to be. The content is wide, deep and includes a certain level of myth vs fact realization. To be an Accredited Kanban Trainer is to know the teachings well enough that we can field questions and answer responsibly, providing insights for our students and the further adoption of the Kanban Method. You will be seen as a trusted expert, with the opportunity to express what that means through the material that you teach. I have not experienced a trainer program such as this before and am very relieved I have!”
